I particularly enjoyed the last stanza of Giuma Bukleb’s “Leave,” translated by Libyan poet and short-story writer Ghazi Gheblawi.
حتى الزغاريد، إن وجدت، التي بشّرت بميلادك
خذها وارحل
ودعنا..
Even the ululations, if they exist, that heralded your birth
Take it all with you and leave,
And let us…
